Oppenheimer After Trinity: Successful Premiere Event and More Showings to Come

On April 22nd, SALA Event Center hosted the World Premiere of Oppenheimer After Trinity, a documentary about the life and legacy of Robert Oppenheimer, the father of the atomic bomb. The event was a resounding success, with all four showings completely sold out. Attendees were treated to food, drinks, and networking with multiple organizations in the lobby before settling down in the theater to watch the film.

Producer and award-winning filmmaker, Larry L. Sheffield, was in attendance and gave a talk about the creation of the film and its future plans. The documentary provided new information and insights into the life of Robert Oppenheimer and the impact of the atomic bomb on the world.

Viewers were engaged and supportive of the commentary, and Larry was able to answer multiple questions from the public. Invited guests also gave suggestions to Larry, and he plans to incorporate these suggestions into a new version of the film. The feedback from the community was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their appreciation for the opportunity to learn more about such an important historical figure.

What made the event even more special was that it was a fundraising event for three organizations: the Los Alamos Historical Society, The J. Robert Oppenheimer Memorial Committee, and The Oppenheimer Project. Thanks to the generosity of the attendees, SALA Event Center was able to raise $1,000 for each of these organizations. We’re honored to be able to support these organizations, which are working to preserve the history and legacy of the Manhattan Project and J. Robert Oppenheimer.

Due to the high demand and popularity of the documentary, SALA Event Center will be showing Oppenheimer After Trinity again from May 25th to May 28th at two different times: 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for more people to watch the documentary, especially as the release of the new movie Oppenheimer from Christopher Nolan approaches on July 21st.

We’re honored to have a space in Los Alamos where we can host events like these and bring our community together to discuss important historical events. At SALA Event Center, we’re committed to supporting local nonprofits and organizations by providing a platform for fundraising events and community engagement.

We want to thank our SALA members and the community for their support and participation in the Oppenheimer After Trinity premiere event. It was a special day for us, and we’re thrilled that we were able to share it with you. We hope to continue bringing important and thought-provoking events like this to our community in the future. So, keep an eye out for more events at SALA Event Center that will promote learning, collaboration, and growth in our community.
