Sometimes silence is the deadliest sound.

In 17th-century Japan, two Portuguese Jesuit priests embark on a dangerous journey to find their mentor, who is rumored to have abandoned his faith. Along the way, they seek to spread Catholicism while confronting the challenges and dangers of a society unfamiliar with their beliefs.
