I’m out for fame and fortune, not to be different or artistic! I don’t intend to be ashamed of my life!

Set in 1930s New York during the Great Depression, Golden Boy follows Joe Bonaparte, a gifted young violinist whose dreams of musical success take an unexpected turn when he is drawn into the world of professional boxing. Torn between fame and fortune, forbidden love, and his Italian-American family’s expectations, Joe must decide what he is willing to sacrifice for the American Dream.

Directed by Sam Yates and starring Josh O’Connor, this powerful revival of Clifford Odets’ American classic explores ambition, identity, and the cost of success. Featuring a live string quartet, this gripping drama is a filmed live stage production from the Almeida Theatre in London, UK.
